NEW SCHOOL BUS DELIVERED TO MAHS!!
MAHSCFL wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception we received at the "Bus Dedication" ceremony. Since the event, the accolades continue to pour in. While accepting the praise, our Board is very aware of the combined efforts of the staff, alumni and supporters that all played major roles in fund-raising and making this achievment a tremendous success. Our Board members & guests spoke volumes about their experience & interaction with students and staff. Many unabashedly admitted to being overcome by emotion on arrival at the school, watching the fanfare, the performances & the grand entrance of the bus through the school gates \. We are thankful for a memorable bus-dedication program. This Chapter is privileged to uphold the legacy and heritage of the school on a hill called “Alvernia”.

MAHS COMPUTER RESOURCE CENTRE IS NOW A REALITY..THANKS TO YOU!
The MAHS computer lab had been under-resourced for years, unable to accommodate a full class at a time. In 2011 our chapter's president noticed the school "library" was dysfunctional with encyclopedias & limited books dating as far back as 1965. The MAHS Central Florida Alumni Association has been organizing fundraisers & working passionately ever since to get this resource center built to fill this important need.
With your support, time & effort it was finally built & equipped with new computers, tablets, printers, tables, wireless access, a projector & screen at a cost of J$12.5 M in collaboration with Food for the Poor, Caribbean Producers Jamaica Ltd., Wendy Hart & Ronald Schrager (husband), Martin Lyn & Associates & Sandals Resorts. WE WISH TO THANK EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE THIS A REALITY. Here are some photos of the new MAHS Computer Resource Center. Let us know what you think! View Photos>>

PROM DRESS PROJECT 2013 |
Be a fairy godmother and assist deserving senior students who cannot afford a dress to wear to their graduation ball. Not only will your contribution be highly appreciated by the students, but a chance to attend in stylish apparel would make their special night one to remember forever!
Last year, over 100 dresses were collected for MAHS 11th grade seniors to wear to their graduation ball! Joy sparkled in their eyes as each girl received a congratulation card indicating they were winners of a prom dress. Thanks to all who contributed to this project last year, we look forward to another year of joyous giving! |
