Mt. Alvernia High School's Oldest Bathroom Gets a Facelift!

In existence since the 1950’s, the four-stall Prefect’s bathroom got a much needed transformation and facelift in August 2013. The MAHS Central Florida Alumni chapter deemed this project to be a priority due to the dilapidated condition of the facility, and its continued deterioration.

As you may know our chapter has hosted a health fair for the past three years with the objective of promoting simple health care initiatives.  Providing a well-equipped and sanitary facility to our little sisters at Mt. Alvernia supported our focus on health.
Adequately renovating the bathroom required replacing all 4 toilets , 3 face basins and 2 beveled wall mirrors. It was also necessary to build a concrete steel floated counter as well as replace the floor tiles and door jams. We also installed 2 liquid soap dispensers, and added hand towel and toilet paper dispensers in each stall.  The ceiling, walls, and tiles were power washed before several volunteers applied a well-needed coat of paint. Tasteful wall decor and a welcome mat provided the finishing touches to accent this special room.
